Lawson transforms her home/studio into a site for engaging passersby to partake in the ritual of sharing food in a neighborly fashion. Like following the cartoon curling steam to a pie cooling on the windowsill, Maggie invites locals (and not-so-locals) to approach her window threshold to share and partake in the specialties of the neighborhood. She invites locals to pull up a chair and reflect on the past and dream for the future of this little corner of North Oakland.  The takeout experience is complete with sidewalk-scape transformed with outdoor seating.
