A public art work as part of a larger intra-disciplinary social project, funded by a Stimurlings voor Architectur grant from the Rotterdam government in 2003. The project looked at the phenomena of a small country like the Netherlands not appreciating it’s local architects (Rotterdam has the densest population of architects in the world) in favor of giving commissions for new buildings to international architects. The poster says “This building was built by a local architect” and these were placed in front of buildings all over the city of Rotterdam. The poster’s included an e-mail address where people could respond with their thoughts on local vs. international architecture in their city – and the identity of their city.
